Sugar is to be avoided if you want to stay healthy.
Most of us have been advice that we need to eat less [tag] sugar [/tag] and rightly so. However, despite warnings by health authorities of the ill effects of sugar, the majority of us are still consuming sugar on a daily basis .

The word “Sugar”is very misleading. Many of us assume that sugar means refined white sugar. But it is more than that. Let’s look deeper into it for the sake of our health.

Sugar comes in many forms and varieties. We do not have to consume white, [tag] refined sugar [/tag] to be consuming sugar. Sugar can conprise of:
Glucose, [tag] fructose [/tag](fruit sugar), [tag] lactose [/tag] (milk sugar), [tag] sucrose [/tag](table sugar),
maltose or malts (rice malt and honey).
Jam (contains concentrated juice, which is high in fruit sugar).
Maple syrup, corn syrup, palm sugar (traditionally used in macrobiotic cooking),
Organic brown sugar, which is not all that different from white sugar.
Even alcohol is a sugar. All of these sugars are problematic.

Sugar is a major culprit in obesity.
For obese individuals, consuming even a teaspoon of sugar a day would cause metabolic imbalances that contribute to obesity. Sugar is to be avoided, not only by the obese but by healthy individuals as well.

SUGAR! Refined White Sugar:-
Can significantly increase platelet adhesion with high sucrose diets.
Can reduce the learning capacity and cause learning disorders in children.
Can cause hormonal imbalances, exacerbating PMS and decreasing growth hormone.
Can increase the size of your liver by making your liver cells divide increasing liver fat.
Can suppress your immune system and lowers your defenses against infectious disease.
Can increase kidney size, produce pathological changes and formation of kidney stones.
Can worsen the symptoms of children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
Causes chromium and copper deficiencies. Interferes absorption of calcium and magnesium.
Your body changes sugar into 2 to 5 times more fat in the bloodstream than it does starch.
